Advancing Connectivity in CBRN: Introducing the New ObSAS LINK Version

At Observis Oy, we are committed to building the most reliable and effective tools for connecting CBRN devices. In an environment where every second and every data point matters, seamless integration is essential. That’s why we continuously invest in developing and refining our systems to meet the evolving demands of modern CBRN operations.

Today, we’re proud to introduce the latest version of ObSAS LINK: a major step forward in enabling smarter, faster, and more flexible device connectivity.

Designed for Real-World Operational Needs

CBRN environments are complex, often involving multiple devices from different manufacturers operating simultaneously. The new ObSAS LINK version has been developed with this reality in mind. It enhances interoperability across a wider range of sensors and systems, ensuring that critical data flows smoothly between devices and command platforms.

ObSAS LINK runs on your terms: deployed in the cloud or on your own infrastructure, depending on your operational and data security requirements. The platform supports up to 100 field users simultaneously transmitting measurements to a command center, creating a live operational picture during reconnaissance missions.

The interface and underlying architecture have both been rebuilt from the ground up in this release, making the platform faster to learn and easier to operate under pressure.

Whether deployed in emergency response, military operations, or industrial safety scenarios, ObSAS LINK provides a stable backbone for integrated situational awareness.

What is new and improved in this version

Real-time measurements and location sharing work exactly as before. What's changed is the thinking behind everything around them. This release was built with a sharper focus on how missions are run from start to finish: from how a commander prepares and launches an operation to how the team reviews what happened afterwards. Reporting in particular has been rebuilt from the ground up to make post-mission analysis fast and informative.

  • Mission planning and initiation are now handled directly within the platform, giving command center administrators a structured way to prepare and launch reconnaissance missions before teams enter the field.
  • Points of interest can now be marked and managed on the operational map by both administrators from the command center and field officers from the mobile app. Field officers can attach text and photos to each POI directly from the field, and all POIs are visible across the team in real time.
  • Mission reporting has been completely revamped. Post-mission reports now include the exact locations of every alarm triggered during the mission, giving teams a full operational record to review and act on.

New CBRN device integrations

We are constantly expanding the supported device portfolio so our customers can use the hardware they trust. Starting with this release, ObSAS LINK supports several robust, field-tested detectors that don't come with native Bluetooth connectivity – so we developed custom ObSAS LINK adapters for each of them. Just plug in the adapter, power on the device, and the detector becomes available to pair in the ObSAS LINK mobile app.

The new devices:

  • Smiths Detection LCD 3.3.
  • Bertin Environics ChemPro100i
  • Thermo Scientific RIID Eye X

Full Feature List

  • Plan and initiate CBRN reconnaissance missions.
  • Monitor live missions and field officer status (location & measurements).
  • Assign field officers to missions.
  • Mark and manage points of interest (POIs) on the operational map.
  • Generate and access mission result reports, including locations of each alarm.
  • Manage user accounts, alarm limits, and instruction bindings.
  • Access inventory report (list of devices used in the system).
  • Multi-language support for the desktop client.
  • Alarms appear as flags on the map as mission progresses

Field Officer (Mobile App) Features

Continuous Development at Our Core

Innovation is not a one-time effort, instead it’s an ongoing process. The development of ObSAS LINK reflects our broader philosophy: to continuously evolve our technology in close collaboration with end users. Feedback from operators in the field plays a critical role in shaping every update we release.

By staying closely aligned with real operational challenges, we ensure that our solutions remain practical, relevant, and future-ready.

Enabling the Future of Connected CBRN Systems

As CBRN technology advances, the importance of connectivity will only grow. Systems must not only detect threats but they must communicate, integrate, and support coordinated responses across teams and organizations.

With the new ObSAS LINK version, we are strengthening that foundation.
